About Me

It Me

Hi! I’m Charlie. I’m in my thirties living and working in London – welcome to my creative outlet!

I’m a chronic oversharer and what I like to call an ambitious underachiever, but I’m learning to do better and striving to do more of the achieving part. I write about solo female travel, create city guides full of the best food and drink both in London and from my travels, and talk about my life beyond all the travel I love to do.

I’m a keen photographer and am usually found micro blogging on Instagram, where I share my travel photos and stories from my every day. Every Monday you can find me championing #BrilliantWomen on Stories. Come and join me, I love meeting new people on the internet!

I’ve been told by a psychologist I’m extroverted to the point of being “nearly off the scale”. I love meeting new people and making new friends, but I also really crave time by myself.

By day I’m an executive assistant. By night I spend the majority of my time trying to find the perfect GIF to complement whatever inane tweet I’m sending out into the world. I enjoy cooking, baking, going to the theatre and curling up with Netflix.

I spend most of my money (read: credit card limit) on travel and complain consistently about never having enough holiday days.

Glastonbury is my favourite place in the world, swiftly followed by Indonesia and Italy.

Every few months I get weirdly obsessed by something obscure or a categorically shit TV show. Recent obsessions include: Mary Queen of Scots, Hallmark TV show Chesapeake Shores and ice dancing. Actually, the ice dancing thing has lasted longer than any of us anticipated. I’m a Stan now. Don’t @ me unless you want me to drag you down the rabbit hole with me.

I’ve perfected the homemade espresso martini and genuinely believe it to be one of my greatest achievements to date.

My favourite colour is yellow as it is the happiest of hues.

If you ever want or need to win me over, I will happily accept fresh flowers, chocolate covered baklava and a good bottle of red wine. I’m not that complicated.
